    One of the most interesting documentary filmmakers of our time, Kim Longinotto, will visit DocPoint to hold a Masterclass seminar intended for professionals and film students. Longinotto will also be present at her screenings.

    The festival will screen the following Longinotto films: SHINJUKU BOYS (1995), GAEA GIRLS (2000), DIVORCE IRANIAN STYLE (1998), SISTERS IN LAW (2005), HOLD ME TIGHT, LET ME GO (2007) and SALMA (2013).

    The Arts Council of Uusimaa has awarded DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival with the Art Council of Uusimaa Art Award for its significant sharing of information and its contributions to cinematic art.



    The award is granted as homage to timely and outstanding artistic activity in the region of the Arts Council of Uusimaa. The award is 6.000 euros and it is sponsored by the Finnish Lottery funds.

    The 13th DocPoint  Helsinki Documentary Film festival will bring more than a hundred high class documentaries from all over the world to the capital’s movie theatres in the beginning of 2014. The six-day festival will be held a week later than last year, from 28th January to 2nd February. The festival programme 2014 will be released in its entirety on the festival’s website in the beginning of January.

    Advance sale for single tickets starts in January, and serial tickets will be available from December 2013. The new festival tabloid comes out in the beginning of January, and the printed festival catalogue in the middle of January.
